Water Hand Pump Plantation
Hand pump water projects are constructed by machine-drilling a borehole to reach the water table, which is then lined with pipes. A hand pump is installed with a concrete surround to ensure water remains within a confined area. These pumps require maintenance every 1 to 2 years for cleaning and part replacement. While maintenance costs are not requested upfront, general donations help cover these expenses.
Water projects are built on community-accessible land, primarily in rural areas where access to clean water is severely limited. In Sindh, Pakistan, water scarcity is a major issue, with many communities relying on contaminated sources, leading to waterborne diseases and daily hardships. The installation of hand pumps is crucial in these areas, providing a sustainable and accessible source of clean water, reducing health risks, and improving daily living conditions for countless families.
